Cruise Etiquette

Mariners use certain terminology on-board ship. These terms are used throughout the ship to refer to sides and direction.

Bow: Refers to the front of the ship

Stern: The rear of the ship

Forward: Refers to moving towards the front or bow of the ship.

Aft: Refers to moving towards the rear or stern of the ship.

Port: Refers to the left side of the ship going forward.

Starboard: Refers to the right side of the ship when facing the bow.

Galley: Refers to any kitchen on-board ship

Cabin or Stateroom: Refers to your "guest room" on-board ship.
